Pizza Shop Keeps On Giving After Break-In

It’s been a trying week for owners of Lelulo’s Pizzeria in Plum borough, a suburb just outside of Pittsburgh. The week started with Patyn McCune opening up her restaurant to feed children who might not have access to lunch since their schools closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Just as the lunch program got started, someone broke in through the storefront window, then broke into the cash register, cleaning it out. Here’s where things take a turn for the positive. It started with a Facebook post that made it to me. Minutes after I put out the word during my talk show on KDKA Radio, things really started to change. Patyn told me all about this roller coaster of a day.

Big thanks to Ryan Szewczak for setting up the GoFundMe to boost Lelulo’s efforts to give back to the community. We need more people stepping up like all of these amazing folks.
