The Cute Is Strong With These Newborns Wearing Yoda Hats

Newborns at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA have been turning up with green ears. Theres no reason for alarm, theyve just been dressed up in baby Yoda hats for the holidays.

Caitlin Pechin, a registered nurse in the baby ward at Magee, knitted the hats herself as a tribute to the Mandalorian character on Disney+. The hats feature pointy green ears peeking out from under a red Santa hat. The babies even have custom onesies with Yoda-esque sayings like, Cute I Am, and Merry We Must Be.

Here’s a video from UPMC Magee Hospital of the cute little Yodas in action…

The hospital has a tradition of dressing the newborns up in different costumes, like the adorable Mr. Rogers-inspired outfits they wore on World Kindness Day. They also swaddle the babies in Terrible Towels during football season as a tribute to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pechin is a big fan of the tradition, and shes happy to be a part of it for years to come.

I don’t plan on leaving there anytime soon, and even if I did I would still make them,” she said in a video for the hospital.

The hospital posted photos to Facebook of the babies wearing the hats and the comments section exploded with heart eyes emojis.

Thats too cute!! What a sweet idea. They look adorable!! ?? one user said.

I cant. I think I will give birth here just to have them dress up my baby, another person wrote.

Sean and Bri McGowan (pictured below) recently gave birth to their son at Magee and were thrilled to have their newborn dressed as baby Yoda.

“We’ve been laughing,” Sean said. “Ever since she watched ‘The Mandalorian’ when it came out, she looked at me and was like, ‘I want one.’ I said, ‘Well, you’re going to get a baby soon.'”

Congrats to all of the new parents who will be bringing Baby Yodas home for the holidays. May the force be with them!
