First Class Passenger Gives Up Seat To 88-Year-Old Woman

Two passengers on a recent Virgin Atlantic flight are warming a lot of hearts after one of them, a man named Jack, gave up his first-class seat to a woman named Violet. Violet, 88, was returning to London after visiting her daughter in New York, and her original seat was in the back of the cabin near the bathrooms.

After she struck up a conversation with Jack, who had a seat in the airlines upper class cabin (thats how Virgin refers to its first-class section), he offered to swap her seats so that she could experience a bit of luxury.

Violet is a retired nurse and while she used to travel back and forth to see her daughter, she hadnt been able to travel lately due a knee replacement. She mentioned that it was always a dream of hers to travel in the first-class cabin at the front of the plane, and like a real-life hero, Jack offered up his seat.

Flight attendant Leah Amy shared the story on social media along with a few photos and gushed about her two favourite passengers ever.

Of the hundreds of flights I’ve operated, I’ve had the pleasure of looking after footballers, supermodels and some Hollywood movie stars but let me tell you about my two favourite passengers EVER! Jack and Violet (I wish she was called Vera or Rose),” Amy wrote in a Facebook page.

Amy, along with the other attendants, made sure that Violet had a great experience in first class, and the woman even had her snap a few pics to send to her daughter, who she said wouldnt believe her story, so she wanted a selfie to prove it.

Violet, who wanted to keep her last name private, didnt have an email address or a cell phone, so the crew agreed to mail the photos to her the following day.

As for Jack, he didnt seem to mind giving up his prime seat. Amy wrote in her post that he sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight. No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him too.

Amys post got thousands of likes and comments with people praising Jacks kindness and Violets sweet reaction.

Jack is such a thoughtful guy, one Facebook user wrote. There are wonderful people out there after all.

Another person commented, This is the best. Brought tears to my eyes. What a great guy! And look at the joy that shines from Violet. So wonderful.

Inspired by Jacks incredible act of kindness? You may not have a first-class seat to give away, but you can spread kindness in other ways. You can pay for the persons coffee in line behind you or leave a Christmas card on someones car windshield. Lets #StartSomethingGood together.
